Colleague,
Welcome to Karachi, the heart of Pakistan! A land of beauty and natural
wealth, from the towering peaks of the Karakorams and the land of the
Five Rivers (Punjab), to the rugged deserts of Sindh and Baluchistan,
Pakistan has much to offer the visitor. Karachi is the southern most
port of the country with stretches of beautiful sandy beaches, a mild
climate throughout the year, and cool evening sea breezes even at the
height of summer. In Karachi you will enjoy the most delicious of cuisines,
with fresh seafood being a favourite of all. Karachi has no dearth of
shopping malls filled with local handicrafts from Sindh, Punjab and
as far as Kashmir. Exquisitely carved wood and marble, the softest of
silk and Pashmina shawls, hand knotted carpets and the finest cotton
suits are available at unbelievable prices.
Welcome to Karachi, to the Second WASAPS meeting! The first meeting
was held in Tehran last year and was immensely successful, insha-Allah
this meeting will be no less. As the General Secretary of the Pakistan
Association of Plastic Surgeons (PAPS) I can assure you that we are
looking forward to welcoming you with our traditional warmth and hospitality.
With delegates coming from all over West Asia and eminent invited speakers
from United States, United Kingdom and other countries I am sure this
meeting will be a source of great learning and inspiration for all.
